Living A Peaceful Life

3 Tips On Living A Peaceful Life

Life/Identity

I was recently at a counseling appointment, and I was telling my therapist how I crave peace and living a peaceful life, but there was once a time in my life when I didn’t know how to find or keep peace.

If you are anything like me, your life hasn’t always been peaceful. If you want to read more about my past, click here.

Maybe your life was peaceful for a time, and now it’s chaotic, complex, and downright challenging.

Maybe your situation is the loss of someone you loved, a divorce, a change you didn’t see coming, or the past resurfacing.

But what if I told you that you can still have peace and learn how to keep it even in life’s challenging, hard, and difficult seasons?

3 TIPS FOR KEEPING PEACE IN YOUR LIFE

Here are three tips for keeping peace in your life that I use daily to find peace when I feel lost.

1. EXPERIENCE NATURE

There is something extra pretty about being in God’s creation. Whether viewing the flowers on a walk, hike, or just sitting outside with your morning coffee, enjoying nature is peaceful and allows your body to rest.

It’s what I like to call restful peace.

2. GET TO KNOW YOURSELF

Get to know yourself by knowing what brings you peace and what doesn’t. Are you having peace in one area and not the other. If so, why?

Another way to get to know yourself is through journaling. If you want a guided way to find peace through journaling, click here. I have the perfect guided journaling prompt for you.

Also, remember to give yourself grace when getting to know yourself. We often give others grace but not ourselves. So, today, be a friend to yourself.

3. SPEND TIME WITH JESUS

Spending time with Jesus will allow you to understand what he says about peace and the multiple areas of the Bible where it discusses peace.

Here are just a few verses that discuss peace:

  • Seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:14
  • Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid. John 14:27
  • God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in the congregations of the Lord’s people. Corinthians 14:33

The Lord wants us to have peace to allow our souls, bodies, and minds to align. Even when things are scary or hard, peace can be found in the Lord, and if you don’t have peace about something, then you know it’s a no-go.

Conclusion About Living A Peaceful Life

Living a peaceful life is possible. Continue to seek peace by going out in nature, getting to know yourself, and spending time with Jesus. God gives us peace, but who and what we allow in our lives can also affect our peaceful life. But if you crave peace, peace is possible.
