Life Coaches seem to be the new buzzword these days/ And as a social worker, I had heard of life coaching but originally thought that it was the same as therapy.
I’m here to tell you that simply isn’t true, and if you’re wondering if life coaches are worth it, I’m here to tell you why they are and why you may need one.
Why Life Coaching Is Important
I followed a few life coaches on Instagram before I really understood what they did. As many people do on social media, I liked their quotes, encouraged them, and sat on the sidelines as I watched their journeys take off.
There was one life coaching in particular whose storyI enjoyed watching.
She came from a similar background regarding trauma, and I enjoyed her transparency.
It made me reconsider what life coaching is and why it’s helpful. So if you’re in the same boat that I was in, here are 3 reasons why life coaches can be worth it.
1. They Hold You Accountable
Since I enjoyed this life coach and could relate to her journey, I knew she could help me.
She was a few steps ahead of me regarding her business, healing, and transparency, so I knew she would be a great fit. Since she was able to hold herself accountable, she would be able to hold me accountable.
This leads to reason number one, that life coaches hold you accountable.
They ask the hard questions regarding what you want, regarding your desired life change, and they help you get unstuck and are able to notice patterns that maybe you don’t notice. They also pull out the reasons for why you want the life change.
2. They Help You With Your Goals
Life coaches walk alongside you as you achieve your goals.
They also help you with the feedback to bounce ideas off of.
For example, since I’m an avid journaler, I was asking my life coach about my ideal client. She asked me to look at my old journals to see what my ideal reader was struggling with.
So, my ideal client was at one point, me—a few years ago.
What a great idea! I don’t know why I didn’t think of this! This is just one of the ways that a life coach helps you achieve your goals.
3. They Are Invested In You
Life coaches are invested in you.
They care about your success, and they get excited when things fall into place. They encourage you to achieve higher goals and go after more.
My life coach changed my life. I don’t just say that, I mean that!
She allowed me to step into a calling that is much bigger than me and helped me be the person God called me to be.
Christian Life Coaching
With all of the life coach talk, you are probably wondering how in the world will I find a life coach or even a Christian Life Coach.
Christian Coaches Network Intentional is a great resource for finding a life coach.
Also, my life coach, Leona Schrock is amazing. You can find her information here.
I pray this post encouraged you and helped you realize that you don’t have to walk this journey along and that life coaches are available.
