If you haven’t heard, my doctors in North Carolina received copies of my book that I sent them. Their response was so kind, and I want to share it with you to encourage you that you are on the right mission.
If you have no clue what I’m talking about—Hi, I’m Ashley, and I was misdiagnosed for years. Only after receiving my birth records did I end up having major surgery by doctors in North Carolina and received the proper diagnosis. And I wrote a book about it called The Broken Until Now Devotional. You can buy it here!
The text message from my doctors after they received my book read:
“Thank you so much for the kind letter and books. You are amazingly talented and clearly motivated in the right direction. Kim and I have enjoyed the notebooks as well as the devotionals. You’re definitely on the right mission.”
They also sent this picture, which I love!

I wish I could have given it to them in person, but I couldn’t. Pennsylvania is far from Concord, North Carolina.
Their response just gave me such joy, and I cried a few tears.
It was my reminder that I am on the right mission. As a writer, I often wonder if my writings help people, but those little moments make it all worth it.
Sometimes, in life, all we need is someone to believe in us, support us, and say a few encouraging words to give us hope again on our mission.
After I received their text, I completed another vendor show and sold 10 more copies of my book.
I also gave a few to people who helped me along this journey.
So, whether you are questioning your mission or wondering if you are doing the right thing, this blog post is a reminder that you are.
That little calling God placed in your heart isn’t there just because it’s there; it’s because God is calling you to bigger and higher things.
