I have been wrestling with my writing lately and the direction of my blog.
I started blogging a few years ago to share my experiences and let women know they aren’t alone. In some ways, I am a friend.
But lately, blogging has been taking a toll on me. Before you have a full-blown panic attack, I’m not breaking up with you regarding not writing on my blog. I’ll still post every Monday for you guys.
(It’s not a you issue, it’s a me issue!)
For the last few years, my blog has seemed like a paper. I research what I want to write, find SEO keywords, and then find a memory related to the idea in my brain.
Which I like, but it’s not me.
I love to joke and have fun, and I like discussing serious topics, but I don’t have all the answers. I have what I have experienced and learned along the way.
My desire is to write from a place of kicking butt and taking names, Jesus’ way, of course.
I want to write for you guys, but if I can’t be myself or feel like I’m just going through the motions of putting a blog post together, that’s not fair for you or me.
So, moving forward, I will write about serious topics as they arise, as well as things I’m learning along the way in life and what God is teaching me.
But here are a few things to expect:
- I’ll be pulling out conversations with Jesus more often
- I’m using my journal as a backboard to my writings
- I’ll write out my feelings about life, hope, sadness, and feeling free (more to come on those topics!)
- I’ll write about how I’m navigating my unmarried, no-kid journey so far
- I’ll write about trusting God in the in-between stages, when you know he has a plan, but it hasn’t come to pass yet. (Jesus is seriously taking forever! Lol)
I want my blog to make you feel like you’re sitting here talking to a friend in sweatpants with your favorite coffee drink. I don’t always feel that way when I read what I write, so that’s what I want for you and me in the future.
So, I pray and hope you stick around for the change, because it will be a beautiful ride.
