When The Setback Leads To A Setup

Featured

Sometimes, some of our best ideas come from dysfunctional beginnings or setbacks. But to God, they are a setup. God wants to provide what we need in ways other than what we think is best.

Can you relate to this? If so, this blog post is for you.

The Setback

The day I wrote this blog post, it was a cold, rainy day; if you are anything like me, being cold is the worst thing ever. However, with the cold weather, it would be a perfect day to do some crafts. The only problem is I didn’t have any. So, after work, I went to TJ Maxx to see if I could find anything to craft.

As I walked around, I thought a coloring book would be the perfect, easy craft, but no coloring books were in sight. That got me thinking that my quotes could be made into coloring pages.

I then decided to design my coloring pages and use the highlighters I had at home because I didn’t own any coloring pencils.

So, I developed three coloring pages with a few short designs on Canva.

I wanted to share with you the three coloring pages I designed on Canva. You can find them here

You may be looking for some fun craft ideas, or you may like a quote I had previously written but would like to see it in a new color. Well, now you can color your own quote pages.

The Setup

While coloring my pages with my highlighters, I received text messages from my graphic designer about my book I was working on at the time. My anxiety started to become a little intense because of all the details of this project, but I just continued to color instead of becoming overwhelmed by it.

If you struggle with anxiety, crafts are a great way to get your mind off the anxiety.

I think our setbacks are more of a setup that God wants to use for our good.

Have you ever had an experience that seemed like a setback, but now you can see it as a setup?

Mary In The Bible

Looking at Mary’s life in the Bible, I can see her current circumstances feeling like a setback. I mean, she was pregnant with Jesus and not sure what would happen. She was on her way to Bethlehem, and no inns were available to give birth to Jesus. Talk about a scary situation! I mean, Jesus ended up being born in a stable.

This may have felt like a setback, but it was a setup.

Jesus, being born in Bethlehem, fulfilled the Old Testament prophecy in Micah 5:2.\

Conclusion

How often do we think something is a setback, but to God, he’s using it to get us ready to fulfill something he’s been waiting to give us since birth?

You can probably think of a few things, and I would love to hear them. Comment on them below.
