My Favorite Resources

Faith/Encouragement

This post contains affiliate links, meaning I’ll make a commission if you purchase through my link at no extra cost. If

you are a fellow blogger, self-help lover, or just looking for resources to help you grow in the Lord, these are my current favorite resources that I’d love to share with you.

Mental Health Resources

Mental health can affect your entire life, and when you’re struggling with mental health, it can feel especially lonely.

I know this feeling personally, as I struggled with anxiety for many years.

But to help you navigate the symptoms of mental health, here are my favorite resources just for you!

Journaling

Journaling is a great way to work through your feelings and emotions.

You can buy journals pretty much anywhere. (I get a lot of mine from Home Goods.)

Here at Broken Until Now, we also sell journals on our shopify. You can purchase a journal that’s branded in Broken Until Now.

Here is the link just for you!

Planner

I love a good planner and She Plans are my favorite. It keeps everything organized and they are pretty.

(She Plans is offering a 10% discount with my referral link for anything purchased on her website including her planners. Make sure you use code brokenuntilnow at checkout with link http://sheplans.com/brokenuntilnow.)

Books

I love to read, and I try to read a book a month! So for any other reading lover, here is a list of my favorite books. You can purchase all of them on my Amazon Storefront page. (I do receive a small commission with each purchase.)

Forgiving What You Can’t Forget by Lysa Terkeurst

Boundaries and Goodbyes by Lysa Terkeurst (Lysa also has a journal to go along with this book, which is wonderful!)

Singleness Resources

If you know any part of my story, then you know I left a toxic, long-term relationship a few years back and have pretty much been single since. During my singleness season, I started to dive into resources to help me cope and learn how to cherish my current season.

Mandy Hale Books

Any book by Mandy Hale! I just love her. She was my go-to, even though she had no clue who I was. Her love for the Lord and to help other women not feel so lonely in their singleness shows through her writing.

But, if I had to pick my favorite book by her it would be her book titled The Single Women

Mandy Hale is also known as The Single Woman on social media.

Stephanie May Wilson Resources

Stephanie May Wilson has a wonderful podcast and many other helpful resources on her page to help you navigate friendships, life, calling, and dating.

I posted a link here for you to check out Stephanie’s resources and blog.

Broken Until Now Resources

Since my heart is to help you grow in the areas of your life that seem broken, I have developed some resources to help you.

I developed a workbook full of journaling prompts for you. You can get that resource here.

Finally, I have linked journaling prompts for you to grow closer to God, for self-discovery, and more. You can obtain the resources here.

These are just a few of my favorite resources that I have developed to help you grow.

Spiritual Growth Resources

Growing your relationship with the Lord is so important, and my relationship with him is no different.

Here are my favorite resources.

Daily Grace Co

I love the Daily Grace Co and their resources, especially the Bible Handbook and their Bible Studies. They are thought-provoking, help you understand the Bible, and help you grow closer to the Lord.

They also have a podcast called the Daily Grace Co.

Here is a link to the Daily Grace Co website.

Bible

My favorite Bibles are the CSB (Christian Standard Bible) and the ESV (English Standard Bible).

The Christian Standard Bibles I use the most are from Hosanna Revival and She Reads Truth. I love them both.

Hosanna Revival Bibles are just beautiful and they have so many options to choose from.

Each She Reads Truth Bible uses a guide at the beginning of each book of the Bible. The guide tells you who wrote the book, key themes, and scripture to look up that goes along with that book of the Bible.

The English Standard Bible I use for its commentary. It breaks down the scriptures and helps you understand the scriptures by adding maps and key information about what was going on during the period when that book of the Bible was written.

The NIV Adventure Bible technically is a child’s Bible, but I love it for the way it breaks down each book of the Bible and the pictures do help me understand what I’m reading.

Blogging Resources

If you are a blogger and love to write and blog, or maybe you are thinking of blogging, I have the perfect resources for you!

Here is a list of my favorite blogging resources.

Canva

I use Canva for my Instagram account. You can follow Broken Until Now here. I also use Canva for my Pinterest account as well. You can also follow us here.

Canva lets you create pins for Pinterest, stories or posts for Instagram, and also lets you create workbooks, mugs, and so much more!

Alisabeth Designs

I worked with Sarah Alisabeth and her team to design my site for my blog! They did an amazing job and they did not disappoint. Yes, it was expensive, but I’m not tech-savvy. They also worked with Showit and WordPress to merge my blog to make it come to life!

Did I also mention that they help me fix it when I sometimes break it? Again, I’m not tech-savvy!

Showit

Showit has many BEAUTIFUL templates to use that you can customize to your liking. It’s really easy to drag and drop words, pictures, and links into one of their templates.

Showit is super easy to use and I love it!

WordPress

WordPress is where my blog lives, per se, on the internet. It’s like a hosting site.

WordPress has great tech support and is easy to use.

It pairs nicely with Showit!

Flodesk

Flodesk is the provider I use to create my emails. They make it easy and also have templates to use for individuals (like me) who aren’t tech-savvy.

Flodesk is super beginner-friendly to use. You can link Flodesk to your Showit and WordPress accounts.

Ubersuggest

SEO seems to be a hot topic for bloggers. As a blogger, your goal is to rank on Google, which I get, but the SEO process can be challenging at first.

It took me a long time to figure out what service to help with SEO.

I currently use Ubersuggest. There is a cost associated with Ubersuggest.

Thrive

Thrive is a podcast and Facebook group where they get into the nitty gritty of developing a well-rounded blog.

Tailwind

I use Tailwind to post my post on Instagram and Pinterest. You can find Tailwind here.

Learning Disability Resources

I know I previously mentioned it, but I was diagnosed with a learning disability.

Now, having a learning disability can affect multiple areas regarding comprehension, short-term and long-term memory issues, reading, and much more. My disability is in writing, specifically grammar.

I’ve been pretty open about my disability because it’s nothing to be ashamed of.

A learning disability doesn’t mean you can’t learn or you have low intelligence, it simply means you learn differently, and that’s okay.

So, with that being said, here are my top resources to cope with learning disabilities.

Grammar Websites

Grammarly is a website where you can submit your writing to the site and it will proofread it for you. It will tell you what grammatical mistakes you have made.

Just like any computer program, it doesn’t always catch everything, but it is nice to use.

I recently discovered other websites that have tests and other tools to allow you to practice your grammar skills.

They are Grammar Monster and Perfect English Grammar.

Apple Computers

Did you know that the Apple computer can read back what you wrote? I love this feature and all you have to do is push Control and Esc at the same time.

This is very helpful for someone who may struggle with switching words around or to help them clarify their writing.

I love this!

Dragon Speak

Dragon Speak is a software that I have used in the professional setting to help read back what I wrote. You can talk into the headset and it will write out what you say.

It is very user-friendly and works well for someone who needs their writing read back to them.

Grammar Books

I love grammar books, but my current favorite is Basic English Grammar For Dummies.

Not the best title I know, but the book is easy to follow and helps you understand the English language regarding writing.

Tutoring

I previously hired a private tutor to help me with my grammar skills after I graduated college and she proofread all of my papers in grad school.

I found her on this amazing tutoring site called Wyzant.

You can search by what subject you would like tutoring in and find a tutor in your area.

I like TikTok because some of the content creators are using their skills to help others.

I Am That English Teacher is one of them. She teaches English. She goes over grammar concepts and breaks them down for you to understand.

Conclusion

Okay, sweet friends, that’s all of my favorite resources I have for you!

Thank you for checking out my favorite resources.

Blessings,

Ashley Marie
