What Is Broken Until Now

The Broken Until Now Story

If you know me in real life, then you know I have a ton of hair and my mane is hard to maintain.

When I’m over my hair, I put it in a bun. Sometimes my bun looks amazing, and other days it looks like it got hit by a tornado.

I love those days though. I love them even more when it’s the early morning hours, I have my sweatshirt on (I’m normally cold), and I have a fresh cup of coffee with my Bible in hand.

In those moments I don’t care what I look like. I’m just being me.

But what if I told you that wearing a messy bun with a sweatshirt is actually amazing?

Yes, I said it, amazing!

It’s not about the look or even your outward appearance. It’s about what’s happening on the inside. The inside of your soul where God is working. Where he’s molding each part of your broken parts to become the person he wants you to be.

The person that is broken until now.

I struggled for years with my past, my mistakes, my identity and gosh, so much more.

There is a silver lining, though. We’re always changing, always growing, and that’s the beautiful thing about growth: it never stops. There is never an arrival moment.

But there will be healing moments, and that’s what I hope to accomplish with this blog; little healing moments!

So what is Broken Until Now?

Broken Until Now is when you stop allowing your past, your hurts, your insecurities, whatever it may be, to come in the way and allow God to heal your broken parts.

The following are the goals of Broken Until Now:

  1. You feel welcome, known and understood

Broken Until Now is a place for every person. Whether you’ve known Jesus your whole life, you’re a newbie Christian, or you aren’t sure yet about Jesus. You belong here!

  1. You know that your past doesn’t define you

Yes, you (insert name here) are welcome. Your past doesn’t define you. You don’t have to worry that you crossed the line of forgiveness with God, so you don’t need to worry about having crossed it in the past.

It’s like this: God doesn’t look at you and say, “You know what, your sins are too much for me this time.”

Who you used to be doesn’t matter because your story is already written.

  1. You see yourself as God sees you: perfect

Your existence here on this earth is not accidental. God created you and you are perfect. You are accepted!

Broken Until Now is brave, real, bold, vulnerable, and encouraging.

We are brave by discussing topics that maybe some wouldn’t want to discuss.

We are real by being transparent.

We are vulnerable by sharing our hurts and even our victories.

We are encouraging by cheering each other on with hope, Scriptures, and with a few good laughs.

If you want to be broken… until now, feel free to subscribe.

Blessings,

Ashley Marie
